Andrew Wilkins "Greetings from the Great Smoky Mountains, Your 2 week Outdoor Emergency Care (OEC) course hit the spot! I was not able to attend an OEC class over an extended period and the Pacific Alpine Institute (PAI) gave me the opportunity to take OEC in a time frame that worked for me. It was exactly what I was looking for. I found that this was not in any way a condensed course, but is a full OEC at a very fast pace. I have had over 20 years experience in EMS, military and the fire service, many hours of all types of training and the PAI rates right up there as some of the best training I have every received. It was a real challenge. Your instructors are professional, knowledgeable, thorough, and interesting. The equipment we used was top-notch, the training scenarios were relevant and the testing done in a way that was actually a learning experience in itself. I hope to be able to attend some of your other classes in the future. I also wish to thank you for helping me with my accommodations and transportation and putting up with my deeply southern accent and ways. You made me feel very much at home. I have highly recommended the Pacific Alpine Institute to others." Tom P. - Cattaloochee Ski Area, Maggie Valley, North Carolina Professional Patrol
Marilyn Hellier BScPT, FCAMT, CGIMS I attended the Pacific Alpine Institutes' OEC course in October of 2004. I had been offered two positions in Sun Valley, Idaho, both contingent on becoming OEC certified. In a last minute attempt to get quickly certified, I came across Pacific Alpine Institute on the web. I called and spoke with Suzanne and was immediately sent all the necessary information as well as given several options for lodging. Having taken many different courses over the past few years, I can state unequivocally, that this was the most well organized, demanding, but enjoyable course I have ever attended. The instructor was prompt, stayed on message, considerate of those of us who didn't quickly grasp concepts, kept her sense of humor, and extraneous conversation was kept to a minimum. I would rate the course an A+. I passed the final exam with a new confidence in my emergency medical skills. I was then able to accept the position of ski team tutor.
